Mostafa Alizadeh is an internationally recognized wrestling coach with more than two decades of experience as both an elite athlete and coach. Following a distinguished competitive career representing Iran on the international stage, he transitioned into coaching, where he has played a key role in developing athletes at every level—from beginners to World and Olympic medalists.

Throughout his coaching career, Mostafa has helped guide the success of numerous national champions and international medalists while serving on the Iranian National Team coaching staff for multiple World and Asian Championships. His experience spans youth development, high-performance training, and collegiate wrestling in the United States.

His coaching philosophy extends beyond winning matches. He believes that true success is built through discipline, integrity, resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement. At West Coast Wrestling Academy, he is dedicated to creating an environment where athletes not only reach their highest competitive potential but also develop the character and leadership skills that will serve them throughout life.

Derek Moore brings a lifetime of elite competition, disciplined leadership, and a deep passion for the sport of wrestling to West Coast Wrestling Academy. A former Division I National Champion, military officer, and veteran Division I head coach, Coach Moore is dedicated to developing world-class athletes while growing the sport throughout California and across the nation.

A native of Redding, California, Moore joined the University of California, Davis wrestling program as an unheralded walk-on. Through relentless work ethic and technical mastery, he transformed into one of the most dominant collegiate wrestlers in the country.

In 2007, Moore made history by becoming UC Davis’s first-ever NCAA Division I Individual National Champion at 141 pounds. He capped off his legendary undefeated senior season by earning the prestigious NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler award after a 17–2 technical fall in the national finals. A two-time Pac-10 Champion and 2007 Pac-10 Wrestler of the Year, Moore’s legacy is permanently etched into the sport as an inductee into both the UC Davis Athletics Hall of Fame and the California Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Following his collegiate career, Moore served six years on active duty as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army. During his military tenure, he was selected for the prestigious Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), where he trained alongside Olympic champions and represented the U.S. in domestic and international competition. His pursuit of world-level excellence culminated in qualifying for and competing in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials at 60kg Freestyle.

Bringing more than 13 years of Division I coaching experience to the mats, Moore has established a reputation for building tough, high-performing programs grounded in culture and character.

After impactful coaching stints—including rebuilding the Division I program at Sacred Heart University—Moore joined California Baptist University (CBU) in 2017 and has invested nearly a decade into the Inland Empire. He served as the CBU Head Wrestling Coach from 2022–2026. Under his leadership, CBU successfully transitioned to NCAA Division I and entered the competitive Big 12 Conference, producing multiple national qualifiers, Big 12 placers, and signature top-25-ranked team dual victories.

At his core, Derek Moore is driven by a lifelong love for wrestling and the life lessons it instills. He views coaching not just as a profession, but as a vehicle to mentor the next generation of leaders, helping athletes reach their ultimate potential on the mat and in life. Off the mat, Derek is a proud father of two children, who serve as his greatest motivation and joy.

Jason Lowe is one of the most accomplished and respected high school wrestling coaches in California, with more than two decades of experience developing athletes, building championship programs, and mentoring young wrestlers. Throughout his coaching career, he has earned a reputation for combining technical excellence with strong leadership, helping countless athletes reach success both on and off the mat.

As the longtime Head Coach at Canyon Springs High School, Jason has transformed his program into one of the Inland Empire’s most consistent and competitive wrestling teams. His commitment to athlete development, disciplined training, and building a positive team culture has produced numerous CIF Champions, California State placers, NHSCA All-Americans, and collegiate wrestlers.

Jason’s coaching philosophy is centered on creating complete athletes through hard work, accountability, resilience, and integrity. His ability to connect with wrestlers of all ages and skill levels has made him one of the most respected mentors in California wrestling.

As an Assistant Coach at West Coast Wrestling Academy, Jason brings decades of coaching experience and championship leadership to the program. He plays an important role in developing youth and high school athletes while helping establish the high standards, competitive culture, and long-term vision that define West Coast Wrestling Academy.
